In 1634, the villagers of Oberammergau, Germany pleaded with God to save them from The Plague, which had already killed 20 percent of their townspeople. In exchange, they promised to perform a Passion Play about the life of Christ every 10 years from that point on. Not another towns person died, and the people of Oberammergau have performed the play ever since.
The Passion Play returns with 102 performances in 2010. More than 500,000 people will attend this unforgettable event.
